FAROE ISLANDS CAMPAIGN 2011
I am currently on the ground in the Faroe Islands with The Sea Shepherd Conservation Society to help shut down the horrific annual pilot whale slaughter, known as "The Grind."
The Faroese make no excuses for this out dated cultural "tradition" that occurs sporadically throughout the summer months when unassuming whale families are corralled into shallow bays to meet their certain and gruesome death. Our presence here directly impacts the safety of the whales.
I hope that you may consider making a small DONATION below to help me accomplish my efforts here. I am prepared to stay in the Faroes for several more weeks in order to protect these highly sophisticated and socially complex beings from such gruesome and senseless death. As this is an all volunteer effort in one of the most expensive and remote nations on the planet, any contribution is greatly appreciated.
I was involved with a similar successful mission 4 years ago surrounding the filming of the Academy Award winning film The Cove in Taiji, Japan and remain dedicated to protecting these magnificent and intelligent species across the planet.
Through direct action, media exposure and international pressure, I am confident that we can bring an end to this bloodbath once and for all.

Thank you for your consideration!
For the wild,
Deborah
